Russell Napier is an Edinburgh-based consultant for CLSA who writes about issues impacting global equity markets. With nearly two decades in the industry, Mr Napier has contributed to the development and scope of CLSA’s equity research.
He began his career in investment at Baillie Gifford in Edinburgh, before joining CLSA in May 1995 as an Asian equity strategist in Hong Kong. He remained in that post until 1999 and was ranked No 1 for Asian strategy in both the Asiamoneyand Institutional Investorpolls from 1997 to 1999.
Mr. Napier is a director of the Scottish Investment Trust and the Mid Wynd International Investment Trust, and his book, “Anatomy of a Bear ? Learning from Wall Street’s Four Great Bottoms”, has been published to critical and commercial acclaim. He runs a course for finance professionals at the Edinburgh Business School titled “A Practical History of Financial Markets”.
