Executive Vice President and Emerging Markets Equity Portfolio Manager, PIMCO
Maria Gordon is the Executive Vice President of PIMCO in London and an Emerging Markets Equity Portfolio Manager.
Before joining PIMCO in 2010, Ms Gordon was a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and the Head of Global Emerging Markets Equity Strategy at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. She served as a Lead Portfolio Manager for the Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets Equity Fund from 2003-10 and Co-Lead Portfolio Manager for the Goldman Sachs BRIC Fund from 2006-10. From 2004-08, she was also responsible for emerging markets stock selection for the Goldman Sachs Strategic International Equity Portfolio. In total, she helped oversee more than $8 billion in investment assets.
Earlier in her career, Ms Gordon was a research analyst covering telecoms, consumer and resource stocks in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as Latin America, for Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets Equity Strategy. Before joining the financial industry, she was a reporter for the Moscow bureau of “The Washington Post”.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin and an MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
