Andrei Belousov

Head of the Department of Economy and Finance, Government of the Russian Federation

Andrei Belousov has held the post of Director of the Department of Economics and Finance of the Russian Federation since 2008.

Previously he was Deputy Minister of Economic Development and General Director of the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasts. He served as a non-staff Advisor to the Prime Minister.

From 2000-06, Dr Belousov headed the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting. In 1981-86, he worked at the Central Economics-Mathematics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and then until 2006 at the Institute of Economics and Forecasting of Scientific-Technical Progress at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Dr Belousov holds a Ph.D from the Economics Faculty of Moscow State University. He is a member of the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Correspondent Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. In 2007, he received the title of Honored Economist of the Russian Federation.
