Lenenergo is the largest grid company in the Northwest Federal District and one of Russia’s system-forming enterprises. The monopoly operator serves St Petersburg and Leningrad Region via a 0.4-110 kW network. It transfers and distributes electricity via grids and provides technological connections.

Lenenergo’s main shareholders are MRSK Holding (50.31% stake) and the St Petersburg administration (25.16%). The company’s shares trade on the RTS and MICEX. In 2009, Moody’s assigned Lenenergo a credit rating of Ba2 with a stable outlook.

From January 1, 2011, Lenenergo shifted to a regulated asset base (RAB) tariff system. The company has one of the largest investment programs in the sector.
